Mrs. Connell's Class
Well, today is the big day you find out your teacher for next year. How exciting! Share one thing you are looking forward to most about next year! This question is for my favorite fourth grade students as well as my brand new third grade students!
Hello my soon to be 4th graders! What have you been up to this summer? I can't believe it is already August! I have loved reading the comments you have been making on the book blog. If you haven't done yours yet, there is still time! I have been busy, busy, busy this summer. Our whole family took a wonderful trip to England and Scotland where I got to see so much history. In Scotland, we went to visit the small town where Mr. Connell's dad grew up. Mr. Connell loved showing our kids where his dad lived, the school he went to and the parks he played in when he was young. We took tours of castles and St. Andrew's golf course which was the very first golf course ever! I also had a chance to visit Mr. Connell while he was working in Texas, and I finally got to see the Alamo in person. I've spent a lot of time at home too, working on things for the new school year and for Scholastic. I miss all of you and hope you are having a great, great summer! Please comment and let me know what you are up to!
PS: Did you notice the new design I made for our website? We have a reading theme next year and third grade's genre is comic books! Take care and leave a comment! :) Hugs and smiles, Mrs. Connell
This is the spot where you can share what you are reading with the class. At least once this summer, I would like you to share a paragraph about a book you have finished.
In your paragraph, include the title of the book, the author, and a 5-6 sentence summary telling us what the book was about. Also tell us how long the book took you to read, what genre it was and whether you would recommend it to a friend and why or why not. If you write an entry for the blog, you have earned one paw of your summer reading goal!
Check back here frequently for new posts from classmates, comments on your posts and new questions that might be asked!
I loved reading all of your summer reading goals. I hope you can accomplish them all! My next question for you is which do you prefer to read, fiction or non-fiction books and most importantly, WHY? Share your comments!
Yesterday we created a summer bucket list of things we have always wanted to do. I'd love for you to add a comment sharing one of your reading goals for the summer. You may comment on other people's goals but remember our blog rules: Always be positive, thoughtful and polite. Leave a comment that you would like to receive!
